This page is an archive containing information on the International Medievalisms Conference, which took place at Maynooth University from 27-28 June 2019.
The plenary speakers were Dr Nadia Altschul (University of Glasgow) and Dr Andrew Elliott (University of Lincoln). Dr Altschul’s research focuses on postcolonial studies, temporality, and Spanish American and Brazilian medievalisms. Dr Elliott works on ways in the ways in which modern media (film, television & video games) re-use history, and you can follow him on Twitter.
The International Medievalisms Conference was organised by Dr Mary Boyle (Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Maynooth University), with help from Dr Kerry Phelan (Classics, Maynooth University), and funded by the Irish Research Council. The conference was hosted by Maynooth University’s Arts and Humanities Institute, who were also co-sponsors of the event, along with the Maynooth University School of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures (SMLLC). Our Early Career Travel bursaries were made possible by the support of the Irish Research Council and Medium Ævum (the Society for the Study of Medieval Languages and Literature).
